Boroondara Brass is led by Danny van Bergen; and attracts players who are looking to experience community music excellence at its highest level.
Our band is proudly and currently the B Grade champions for Australia (national) and Victoria (state).
Our achievements from the past few years include winning the B grade section at National Band Championships in 2023 in Newcastle, Victorian State Championships in 2022 and 2023, Bendigo Eisteddfod in 2022, and Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod in 2022 and 2023. In 2019, the band travelled to Hamilton to competition in the New Zealand National Band Championships, placing second in the B grade section. Many of our players have come up through the ranks from initially joining Boroondara Harmony Brass.
Aside from competitions, the band engages in a number of annual events, such as St Paul’s Anglican Church’s Strawberry Fair in Kew, Carols in Grace Park, and cabaret nights.
