Danny van Bergen
Daniel started his musical career in his hometown of Echuca studying classical organ and then began learning the cornet in the Echuca Federal Band. He began conducting at an early age conducting school concert and jazz bands. Since then, Daniel has gone on to conduct numerous ensembles including brass bands, orchestras, new music ensembles and variety of shows and light opera including productions of “Annie”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”, “The Pirates of Penzance”, “The Witches of Eastwick” and “Jesus Christ Superstar”. In 2018, Daniel was appointed a life member of the Victorian Bands League.
Daniel studied Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts, Teaching at Deakin University and Conducting at the University of Melbourne. Daniel holds Associate Diplomas in Band Studies (Horn) and Musicianship and is an Associate of Trinity College London on Euphonium.
Currently, Daniel is Leader of Performing Arts at Wantirna College. For Boroondara Brass Inc., he oversees the musical direction of our organisation’s ensembles and is the Conductor of Boroondara Brass (B Grade).
Robyn Waugh

In 2009, Robyn attained her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Teaching from Melbourne University. A highlight of her degree was a study abroad experience in the USA performing with the University of Illinois Marching Band. She has played the euphonium and trombone with wind bands across Melbourne, including Grainger, Heidelberg and Knox Wind Symphonies. Robyn joined Boroondara Brass on euphonium in 2009 after playing with Footscray-Yarraville City Band for 5 years.
Robyn met her now husband Ben through the band and they have 3 beautiful boys together. Robyn’s passions include teaching emerging brass musicians and creating engaging performances. Her goal for Harmony is to create a welcoming, inclusive and social space for all our members.
